In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old cricketer named Imran Patel collapsed and died of a cardiac arrest while playing a cricket match in Pune. The unfortunate event occurred on Thursday at Garware Stadium, where the match was being live-streamed. Imran, who was an opener, had complained of chest and arm pain during the game. After notifying the on-field umpires about his discomfort, he was allowed to leave the field. However, while walking back to the pavilion, he suddenly collapsed.
Efforts To Save Him Were Unsuccessful
As soon as Imran fell to the ground, his teammates and other players on the field rushed to help him. He was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The news of his passing left everyone in shock, as Imran was known for being physically fit and healthy. Being an all-rounder, he was always active on the field, and his sudden death surprised everyone.
Teammates Shocked Over His Sudden Death
Imran’s teammates were deeply affected by the incident. Naseer Khan, a fellow cricketer who was part of the match, shared his disbelief. He stated, “Imran had no history of any health problems. He was fit and loved cricket. We are all still in shock.” The fact that someone in good health could suffer such a fate has left many questioning how this could happen.

Imran Patel’s Family And Legacy
Imran was not just a cricketer but a well-known figure in his community. He owned a cricket team, ran a real estate business, and also had a juice shop. Imran leaves behind his wife and three daughters, the youngest of whom is only four months old. This heartbreaking incident brings back memories of another cricketer, Habib Shaikh, who died similarly in Pune earlier this year. However, unlike Imran, Habib had an underlying health condition.
